In the last century the old Phoenix foundry in East Street, Uralla survived some tough times, like its namesake,
it just keeps on rising from the ashes.

The foundry, now known under it’s original name - The New England Brass and Iron Lace Foundry, is up for sale by it’s current private owner. The Friends of the Foundry have formed an incorporated association and hope to raise money to purchase and restore the foundry and turn it into a public museum. There are lots of ideas for community based access incorporating training facilities.

Everyone interested in saving the foundry is urged to join the Friends, register their interest and join in discussions for the future.

The 'Friends of the Foundry' need all the help you can give not only in person but also in assistance of all kinds from typing to research and maintenance. Not everyone is an expert but everyone has something to offer.
