Different groups in the community imagined possible future built forms for the Dominion Foundry Site. Here are four:

KPMB: Foundry Demonstration Project

An exploratory design project undertaken by a number of community-minded architects, urban designers and affordable housing experts to support the advocacy of Friends of the Foundry by considering what might be possible to protect and preserve the valuable heritage on the site.

IRCPA: Canada's Place for Music

The International Resource Centre for Performing Artists (IRCPA) together with the Corktown Residents and Business Association (CRBA) are currently preparing a proposal regarding the abandoned, heritage Foundry buildings in the West Don Lands, Block 17 and 26. We propose to regenerate the buildings as a Centre to enable the large number of musicians in the city, province and visiting from across Canada, to be able to live, work, create and perform here. This will also provide a Hub for the diverse and growing Communities in historic Corktown, to meet and work inclusively together.

Urban Strategies: City Building at the Foundry

Urban Strategies Inc., along with colleagues at N. Barry Lyon Consultants (NBLC), believe that the Foundry site provides an opportunity to achieve multiple objectives. We put forward several potential design solutions as a contribution to the passionate dialogue already taking place.

Common Ground | Bowery Project: Eastern Food HUB + Urban Farm

The folks who brought the milk crate garden to the parking lot beside Canary Restaurant in 2019 have been proposing a multi-phased urban farm and food hub for some time. The objective is to create a sustainable and innovative destination that addresses social inequality through food production, accessibility and distribution.
