Week 1: Bat Mamas

9 May 2021

Welcome to Week 1 of 21 Weeks of Resistance, a coordinated campaign to keep the Foundry Site popping up in the minds of Ontario citizens (especially those sitting PC MPPs and Caucus members).

These days all our minds are on vaccines, and there's not much space for anything else. So let's keep it light do something fun — also, it's Mother's Day!

Bats who roost in the buildings at the Foundry Site — three endangered species, in fact — are expecting to give birth in late June or early July. So, on your social media feeds, wish the Foundry Site bats a Happy Mother's day! Example:

Happy Mother's Day to the bat-mamas who roost at the #FoundrySite. With the demo crew gone, they'll be able to raise babies here again this year. #SaveTheFoundry

At minimum please tag your post #SaveTheFoundry. You can also tag us in directly using the information below the signature. You might want to tag in Doug Ford and a few ministers as well.

We include below a few different pictures: pick one you like to accompany your post. Or find your own!

“But wait! I don't do Social Media!” No problem. Email Laurie Scott, Minister of Infrastucture, to express concern for the bats roosting at the Foundry Site. Ask for her assurance that they will be re-housed appropriately when the time comes to restore the heritage buildings. You can copy the premier and other ministers as well: see below for their email addresses. Oh, and bcc us at [email protected]!
